Exodus 28:1–5 — Holy Garments for Aaron

Part Eighteen is the most intimate chapter in the entire Exodus narrative — and carries the most important theological content in the whole Old Testament about who God actually is. Please read Exodus 33:12–34:9 before engaging the commentary. Read it slowly. Read it more than once. This passage contains what the Jewish tradition calls the Thirteen Attributes of God — the deepest and most direct self-disclosure of the divine character anywhere in Scripture before the Incarnation.

Part Seventeen covers one of the most catastrophic events in the entire Old Testament — and one of the most revealing about both human nature and divine character. Please read Exodus 32 in full before engaging the commentary. It is a single, unified narrative that should be read in one sitting before it is analysed in pieces.
